帰国生が多いことで有名な「川崎市宮前区」。川崎市の北西部に位置し、東京へのアクセスがしやすく、ベッドタウンとして機能しています。
最寄り駅は、東急田園都市線の鷺沼駅。
駅前には、日用品や食物を手軽に手に入れられるショッピングセンター「フレル鷺沼」、そして、カフェやレストランが点在しています。
当校生徒の約７割は、帰国子女です。
帰国後の居住先を決定される時、「宮前区は、帰国子女が多い」との話を聞いて、住まいを「宮前区」に決めた方も多くいらっしゃいます。なお、川崎市教育委員会が、平成 30 年度 3 月に公表した「年刊 教育調査統計資料 No.45 平成29(2017)年度」によると、帰国児童生徒は宮前区の小学校には 87 人、中学校には 24人います。他の区に比べて明らかに多い人数です。
